In the late 1970's, while residing in Napier, Gordon started performing. He was part of a clown troupe and a founder of the street theatre group called the "Soap Box Orators".
In 1982, he moved to Auckland and trained for 5 years at 'The Theatre of Spontaneity'. While in Auckland, Gordon founded the theatre company 'Myth-on Theatre', Co-founded 'Blob Theatre' and was producer/director for 'Encore Productions' as well as performing with other production companies and performing in 'Theatre Sports'. Towards 1988, Gordon started storytelling and gained the permission to tour his storytelling shows to New Zealand Schools.
In 1988, Gordon started touring his storytelling shows throughout New Zealand and in 1991, started touring his shows overseas. In 1992, he commenced a touring arrangement with Sydney based
Gordon has also toured to Canada, the USA and the UK. In 2001, Gordon had a 4 month contract teaching drama at Ballakermeen High School, Douglas, Isle Of Man.
Gordon stopped touring/storytelling as a primary occupation in 2008 and is presently studying at
